Our History
Empowering Students for Success
Unselds’ School was founded by Wes and Connie Unseld in 1978. Originally, the school was a day care center. In 1983, the school received state accreditation and became a private, independent, state-approved school.
Unselds’ Developmental Center for Children opened in 1991 for infants and toddlers. In 1996, a middle school was started, with a new grade added each year until grade eight.
The school has served students from nine months to fourteen years old. Unselds’ School is accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education and has been acclaimed as a “School of Excellence” in the United States.
